Old man and the grass

I live in your typical run of the mill residential street. Most people have regular jobs, come and go on fairly normal schedules, and take care of the lawn once every week or two.

It turns out that an old retired couple lives two houses down from mine. The man has nothing better to do than tend to his lawn. It’s perfect. It’s better than some golf courses. He has the whole underground sprinkler system set up and the whole deal. I see him mowing his grass several times a week. It’s his hobby.

But I think that he crossed the line when at 7 am he was out there with the weed whacker. Come on, just because you go to bed when the sun goes down, and awake when it raises (just like chickens), it doesn’t mean that everyone else does. It’s just plain rude and inconsiderate. I bet he wouldn’t like it if I were doing the same at 11 pm one night. After all, I’m not sleeping.
