Dating show fairness

Bravo TV’s major hit is “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. Another hit they have this summer is “Boy Meets Boy“.

It’s like “The Bachelor”, except that everyone is gay. A guy dates other guys and eventually chooses one.

So far so good. Well it turns out that some of the contestants are actually straight and the main guy was never told that. There are 3 guys left, he now must choose one. Well, one of the 3 guys left is straight and the main guy just found out about it.

Is this fair? I don’t think so. Sure, it throws a new and different twist into the game. But I don’t think it’s fair and I actually feel bad for the guy. It’s as if in “The Bachelor” one of the women was a lesbian. What good does that do to the guy? So much for finding a compatible mate with long-term relationship potential. After watching a couple of episodes, it seems like he is a genuine guy who had high hopes for whoever he may meet on the show. I hope it ends well for him.
