Stupid airlines

So I needed to change a return flight, I called Continental and they informed me that for me to change that flight, I would have to pay them over $700. I’m not exagerating.

Instead, it was a heck of a lot cheaper to just buy a new ticket for the new dates and use the previous ticket purchase towards a future flight (minus the change penalty.)

Why do they do this? I guess somehow they probably still come out ahead. But I’m always amused at their horrible policies. I’m glad that are no other businesses ran like airlines or we’d all be pulling our hair out everyday.
