DCAI was just watching the Simpsons. Homer is helping is mother run away from jail and he says: “I’m going to hide you where there is no one around for miles. Disney’s California Adventure!” And it made me laugh. I’ve been to DCA several times and I agree with him. Except for a couple of rides, it’s a waste of time and money. I have a yearly pass to both parks, so it’s not a big deal, but I would be upset if I had to pay close to $40 to enter that park.
Email customer serviceIn the last couple of days I have sent 2 emails to 2 different European companies. Both companies wrote back in less than 12 hours. Not only that, the responses were friendly and personalized (ie. not a canned message) and actually useful. Compare this to the customer service that we are (or at least I am) used to receiving from US companies. You are lucky if you hear from them in 24 or even 48 hours. Then you usually get a canned message that only vaguely addresses your issue. Maybe we are too worried with lawsuits, providing a “consistent customer service experience”, as well as lowering the per-email handing costs. But I’ll tell you something, I was impressed by those two companies, and I wish I could keep doing business with them because they have earned my respect. Maybe there is a lesson to be learned here.
I’m loved…. by a lesbian, but, how often does a lesbian tells you, and the world, that she loves you?
CindyAs some of you may have noticed, we’ve had a new person join us lately. Her name is Cindy and she posts on the left side of the page. On that tag board chat type thingy. We need to come up with a name for it by the way. At first I thought it was a joke. But it turns out that she is a real person. I think that she is from Jefferson City, Missouri or nearby (if my detective powers are still good). And she blogs! Avenue QI was browsing the web and I came across an interesting Off-Broadway play called Avenue Q. It’s like Sesame Street but for adults. It has puppets, songs and adult language and themes. The website has videos that cracked me up. I also found the soundtrack on iTunes. That’s an iTunes only link, so you need to install it before you can use that link. You can listen to samples that contain lyrics such as: “The Internet is for porn”, “There’s life outside your apartment” and “my girlfriend lives in Canada, and I can’t wait to eat her pussy again.” Oh what I would do to see the play. Maybe it’ll come out on DVD someday because I doubt that anyone is going to fly me to NYC to see it for free. And it’s cold up there this time of the year.
Broken WindowsYou know that Windows is not a great operating system when you see these ads on websites and you know that people will click on them.
Illegal SimpsonsIf you have browsed my website, you may have come across this traffic signal picture. It’s north of San Diego, heading towards Los Angeles. It cautions people of illegals running across the highway. I love it. I specially love the kid flying. Today, while watching TV, I saw an ad for a new Simpsons game. Does the logo look familiar? I love it. I’m all spentI just got done hanging up 5 frames up on a wall and tried to make it look nice. Of course I have no sense of style or aesthetics, so I’m sure that Hays-Ron will walk in, look at it and shake his head. But until then, I’ll just be proud of it. I did hook up my dvd player and tivo all on one tv and working together in less than a minute. Beat that queer eye guys!
