Tons of picsMy keycam was highjacked. So I added over 60 pictures to the photoblog. The Complex Rock Tour LiveIf you love me, you’ll rent The Complex Rock Tour Live DVD by the Blue Man Group. It’s awesome and fun to watch. I ordered it online as soon as I was done watching my rental copy. In fact, if you don’t rent it, he may die.
Bag handlingI have a small portable DVD player that I like to take on trips. It allows me to watch movies during a layover or during long boring flights. I only had a carry on with me the last time I flew to/from San Diego. On the way back, while on a layover in Houston, I was asked to check the bag in because it was a small plane. Rather than arguing (I’ve carried that bag many times before), I checked it in for the flight. Today I got my DVD player out of the bag and hooked it back up to my TV in the bedroom. To my surprise, the player had been banged up pretty badly. So badly that certain pieces had been knocked out of their places and the player wouldn’t even close anymore. Now, this is an expensive gadget. So I was pretty pissed. Fear not, I grabbed one of those eyeglass screwdriver, opened the player and reassembled it. And guess what, it worked. I kick ass. I put a couple of pics of the event in, what else, my photoblog.
UpdatesI made some changes to the HTML of this site so that it displays the same way in Apple’s Safari web browser as it does in Microsoft’s IE for Windows. Finally. I had to wrestle with the HTML until it looked the same way in both places. Apple’s browser is pickier about standards and not as forgiving as IE, but I still think it’s the better browser. Today I also added 3 new pics to my photoblog. I hope I keep adding pics often, maybe not daily, but I’ll try. I’m having fun with it.
New site featureI was able to get a hold of a cheap little keychain camera. It doesn’t take great pictures, but it’s fun to have around. I’ve been playing with it for a couple of days and I thought I may try a photoblog type thing. Will I stick with it? I don’t know. Will people check it out once in a while? I don’t know. Will most pictures make sense to people without a text description? I doubt it. But here it is, I introduce my photoblog. I also added a link on the left column. Deep-fried oreos recipe1 large bag of Oreo cookies Preheat fryer to 375 degrees. Mix all of the ingredients listed above until there are no lumps. Dip a cookie in the mixture and put it in frier. The cookie will float. Fry for one or two minutes each. Let drain on paper towels. Optionally sprinkle them with powder sugar. Thanks to Rita for the recipe! Rita posts on that left column chat thingy once in a while. It’s not the technologyI just got off the phone with an irate student. He was claiming that he was getting 0s in all of his assignments that he’s done on the Internet for 2 of his classes. There is no trace that he has ever submitted anything. He has also not taken a single test in any of his 2 classes. Then I asked him when he’s been on the system and he said “I log in after class”. So I then say “I show that you’ve been on a total of 4 times this semester.” At which point he got pissed and started screaming about losing his financial aid. It’s so easy to blame technology for your lazyness. But if you are going to try to use techology as your excuse, then I’m going to use technology (system logs) against you. I’m tired of people blaming technology and having us chase non-existant problems.
Controversial observationsMy brother is complaining that nothing I say is controversial so no one comments on anything I say. So let’s try this: - 80s videogames are better than today’s flashy games Discuss or add to the list (or my brother will get pissed.) MeJob partiesLast night we had a banquet sponsored by the university. A lot of my coworkers and other people from other departments were there. There was a free open bar. A couple of us had several drinks. The drinks were pretty strong. A lot of funny stuff was said due to that fact. Thankfully nothing that is regretable this morning.
