Remembering Special X

And Special X is gone.

How did they go? Well, they played segments featuring Generalisimo Ortega, the “person” in charge of Special X, and music in between.

What songs did they play? Mickey Mouse’s “now it’s time to say goodbye”, “the way we were” sung off key by some guy, Monty Python’s “always look on the bright side of life”, and the last song was “somewhere over the rainbow” by some punk band.

Generalismo Ortega’s story was interesting. He was in the middle of a battle. He thought he could get away through the escape hatch. But then he finds out that it’s broken. So he tries to find places (other channels) for all of his music to go to. Then….. it was all a dream… a dream… a dream….

And we are lead to believe that it was all a dream until the next segment where we find out that it was all really just a person reading a book to a little girl at bed time. But as the guy says goodnight to his little girl, we hear a strange accent coming out of the guy before he coughs and gets rid of the accent quickly. The guy? Generalisimo Ortega of course.

Generalismo Ortega lives. Viva la weirdolucion!

Goodbye, Special X

One of my favorite XM Radio channels, Special X, is going away in just 50 minutes.

What did they play? Weird stuff. A japanese lady singing “new york new york”. A commercial telling you to become a space cadet. Right now they are playing Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” but made with chainsaw sounds by “Texas Chainsaw Orchestra”.

Then during Christmas they had Mr. Christmas who was a guy who would get drunk on eggnog and play Christmas music and bitch. Another day they played Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch” in its entirety.

Goodbye, Special X. I miss you already.

Tired of the sayings

I’m not sure about you, but I’m somewhat tired of the quotes, or sayings or whatever that display randomly at the top of the page. Do you have any suggestions for new ones? Post them in the comments!

Please?

I know it’s slow. But… please?

CBS censorship

Once again, CBS has decided to take sides and censor free speech. This time they have chosen not to air an ad during the Superbowl claiming that it’s controversial.

What is this controversial ad? Watch it here. Flash is required.

Wahooooo!

Guess who called me yesterday. Yes! The Wahoo Lady!

This time she decided she wanted a new account in the system. This is obviously pointless since her account is working properly, it’s her specific set up that is preventing her for logging in. So I just changed the password for her and told her it was a new account.

Then, for the second day in a row, she asks me where to find specific content in her courses. And for the second day in a row I explained how there are over 1,500 courses in the system and it’s impossible for me to know them all, so she should contact the instructor for those courses and ask. At that point she decided to hang up on me in mid sentence.

So I’m done taking to her. I’m done returning her phone calls.

Wahoo lady

I just got off the phone with Wahoo Lady again.

This time she was telling me that, again, she cannot login and asked “do I need a Netscape account to get on the system?”

How does she come up with this stuff?

Is she a plant to test our patience and support skills? If so, she is brilliant!

Just say “No”

Are you a Disney shareholder? I am. If you are, you may want to join us and vote “No” on certain board members.

More server stats

Completely pointless stat for most people. But since Jan 10th, 2004 my server has received 5137 messages. Out of those, 4756 messages have been filtered as spam with no false-positives. That is over 92% of emails received.

Website searches

I was taking a look at some server logs, and I came across some entries that reflect what people have been searching for on this site. Some guy from England tried these keywords:

2004.01.15 00:48:50 Search: query for ‘up peggy bundy’s ass’
2004.01.15 00:49:25 Search: query for ‘ peggy bundy’s ass’
2004.01.15 00:49:59 Search: query for ‘ peggy bundy up her ass’
2004.01.15 00:50:27 Search: query for ‘ peggy bundy’
2004.01.15 00:52:28 Search: query for ‘up peggy bundy’s ass’
2004.01.15 00:53:03 Search: query for ‘peggy bundy sodomy’

What was he expecting to find? OK, wrong question. Why did he expect to find THAT stuff here? How did he end up here?
