GrowI just came across a game called Grow. It’s weird, it took me a couple plays to figure out what is going on. But basically you throw objects in the ball and they grow a little more during each round. Some objects also depend on the growth of other objects before they progress to the next cycle. It’s hard to explain, but it got me addicted for about an hour. After a lot of trial and error, I won! I was able to complete the game by using ever object at its full potential and score the maximum amount of points, which is 20,000. You can see a picture of the winning combination right here. Please keep in mind that this may provide some spoilers. Enjoy! 500th entryI could try to use my 500th entry to post something strange or funny. Instead I’ll use it to link to an article by Wil Weaton (of Star Trek TNG fame) about his opinions on what Bush is trying to do to gays in this country. It’s always nice when a hetero agrees on this issue. It’s even nicer when the argument is well thought out and presented in an easy to understand manner. New faster commentsAs most of you know, the comments function on this site were slow. Not just slow, but Bush-getting-a-clue slow. So I’ve changed to an off-site comments system that I think will work. Of course I didn’t want to lose the comments that everyone had made in the past, so now you’ll see 2 comment links on all the previous posts. “Comment” takes you to the new fast comments system. “Old Comments” takes you to the old comments. So go ahead, give it a try, click on “Comments” and see if it’s fast. I’m happy with it. And yes, the extra links in that window will go away pretty soon.
Every breath you don’t want to takeHello, I’m back from San Diego. I had a wonderful time, including a 1.5 day visit to Disneyland and a fairly wild night of which I only remember the first half. I could describe it by saying “drag queen” and “porn star.” But moving on to the point that I wanted to make right now. I’m sure that we all know The Police’s famous “Every Breath You Take” song. Well, today I have come across what I think is the worse remake of this song. It’s a Jazz song, it’s by some group called “The Bad Plus” and if you have iTunes, you can listen to it by clicking here. If you think that it sounds bad or weird, just wait until you hear to the last few seconds of the 30-second sample. I realize that it’s Jazz and it’s somewhat random or whatever. But my Lord, did that sample hurt my ears.
San Diego boundI’m heading out to San Diego in about an hour. Updates while I’m gone will be minimal or nonexistent. I should still have access to my email for the most part. See you all on Thursday. I’m in the money!Like I mentioned yesterday, I was interviewed by the CBS Marketwatch people. And sure enough, I ended up in the article! It starts towards the bottom of the article with the sentence “Even the smallest stockholders are puzzled.” That quote is mine for the most part. He tweaked it slightly. But I still it’s pretty cool.
Mover and shakerI’m a mover and shaker! I’m happening! I’m making deals! Ladies and gentlemen, I’m in the money. Today I was interviewed by Russ Britt, the Los Angeles Bureau chief of CBS Marketwatch about my Disney stock holdings. Mr. Britt - “How many shares did you say you have?” I hope I’m quoted on an article. I’ll keep an eye on their website and post a follow up if it happens. If it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad. This woman just went off on me on the phone about the Internet connectivity problems that we are having at work. Finally after she wouldn’t listen to reason, I said: She didn’t like this, so she said: To which I responded: And she hung up on me.
Sing it for me, baby!Like, a TRL takeover!A few weeks ago I talked about a funny music video that I came across, P-Unit’s Generic Rap Song. If you haven’t watched it yet, I suggest you do so. It’s simply brilliant. Anyway, the guys who made it want to get it aired on Friday on MTV’s TRL (Total Request Live). Like they say, “Imagine a video making fun of the industry’s top stars on the very countdown they strive to top!” All you need to do is to vote for it after Thursday at 6 pm Eastern Time (that is 5 pm Central, 3 pm Pacific). Go to the form, scroll down, select “Other” and enter this information: You can vote as many times as you want! Vote once, or spend five minutes and vote several times. Will it happen? Doubtful, but it’d be fun if it did.
