Green is the new PinkHappy St. Patrick’s day. You may now celebrate someone else’s culture by getting wasted and throwing up before you go to bed.

Fraggle Rock
I miss you.
Question to those in SpainI was in Wichita, Kansas for a conference yesterday, March 11, when the bombings (10 of them?) happened in Madrid, Spain. I caught the end of a news report on TV and I assumed, based on what I heard, that a bomb had gone off in one train. I had no idea of the extent of it all. I went to the first presentation for the day where AP News was demonstrating some software that gives Universities access to their entire photo archive and it’s updated constantly with about 2,000 pictures a day. The guy talking did a search for “today” and there in front of me, projected on a big screen on a wall, I started seeing pictures of what happened in Madrid and it sank in a little more. But anyway, I have finally been able to catch up on the news now that I’m back home. I’ve been watching CNN in my office for a couple of hours so far and I’ve seen footage of demonstrations calling for an end to the violence. What I thought was strange was that every person was holding their hands up. And my question is, what is that supposed to signify? What is the origin of that? I guess I don’t get it.
Rest of the weekI’m off to Wichita, KS for a couple of days to go to a conference. I’ll be back Thursday evening but then I have plans for the rest of the week so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post until Sunday or Monday. I was going to leave you with a picture for you to make fun of, but I forgot it on my computer at home and I already turned it off so I have no way of grabbing the pic. Sorry! If you must, you can make fun of my brother. See you real soon!
The mystery manOn my previous entry I asked you who the person on the picture is and to come up with a caption if you could for the picture. The captions were great and they made me laugh. Thank you for joining in the fun. And please ignore my drunken comment. I need to stop interwebing after I come back from partying. As for who the mystery man is, some of you guessed correctly via email. That guy is my brother. My brother being an idiot, but still my brother. I had previously theorized that my brother is a spy. This other disguise (80s rock star) is further proof that my theory is correct.
Caption contest
Caption this picture! Click on the “Comments” button below. (would anyone like to guess who this is?) Google adsBy now you have all seen Google ads being used in all sorts of sites. They are small, inobtrusive text ads that relate to the content on that specific page. Basically Google’s ad engine looks for keywords on the page and then tailors the ads to make them relevant to the content. My interweb friend Chickenbooo has a blog and Google ads are at the very top. The other day he posted an entry about his dirty sexual fantasies involving grocery store cashiers and bag boys. And what did Google do? It’s now showing ads for Safeway grocery stores. Safeway, we’ll fill your tummy and your ….
