No tattoogle

1 Terabyte of storage space? Not anymore. It was a mistake on Google’s part and they are moving everyone back to “only” one gig of storage.

No tattoogle for me! (again)

That’s a lot of room for spam!

This is what my Google Mail account says now:

Yes, they are now giving 1 Terabyte of storage space per e-mail account instead of “just” 1 Gig that they were giving before. I guess that other companies also started claiming “1 G of storage” and Google decided that size does matter.

Tattoogle anyone?

High school flashback

The other day I was spaced out, watching TV, and I suddenly thought of a very good friend of mine from High School and wondered what he is up to now.

With a little bit of help from Google, and then help from someone at the company he works at, we’ve made contact.

He is now married and has a son! That’s pretty cool. He is also thinking of buying a house next year.

I always feel kind of weird when I see people around my age doing all these grown up steps. Getting married, having kids, buying houses. I’ve done none of that, and the truth is that I’m perfectly fine with it. But it’s still weird.

Two faced

Today Bush talked about the 50th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education and said that the ruling “changed America for the better and forever.” He added “Fifty years ago today, nine judges announced that they had looked at the Constitution and saw no justification for the segregation and humiliation of an entire race.”

Today he also said, about gay marriage that “the need for that amendment is still urgent, and I repeat that call today”.

Irony

I was watching CNN during my lunch break and they were talking about today being the 50th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling which finally brought an end to segregation in schools. According to the Supreme Court ,”separate but equal” does not work nor is it legal.

And there I was, sitting, hearing the two anchors say things such as “can you believe that there was discrimination in our lifetime?” and “to think that 50 years ago separate but equal was not seen as a bad thing by the general population.”

And I wondered if the irony wasn’t hitting them on the face at full force. Today it is not only the 50th anniversary of that wonderful ruling by the Supreme Court, but it is also the first day in history when gay and lesbian couples can finally legally marry in the US, albeit in only one state (but I foresee that this will change over time.)

Now that people and politicians are feeling threatened by gay marriage, they are starting to talk about civil unions. I thought that “separate but equal” didn’t work 50 years ago. Why would it work today? There is no reason to create 2nd class citizens.

Congratulations to all the couples who are getting married in Massachusetts.

Now you feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth for the other. Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be the companion to the other. Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you. May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years. May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth. — Anonymous

Welcome to Conspiracy Monday

By now we have all heard of the beheading of the American in Iraq. I’m sure we are still shocked and wonder what the hell is going on out there.

Well, people have started stuying the video and they are noticing certain things such as the US Standard Issue white chair that Berg was sitting on, the fat white men with the bad Arabic who were talking and several other things. The article titled “It’s The Same Chair!!!! OMFG!!” is a quick read and definitely makes you go hmmm.

If you want a more detailed analysis of the video (no pictures), check out these 50 anomalies. Like the article says, some claims are probably insignificant and worthless, but many others aren’t.

It’s time to don your tin foil hat.

Keep it tight

I had to pick up my allergy prescription this afternoon, so I went to the store and the only available parking space somewhat close to the entrance was one that had probably been left empty because the car to the right was parked way, way, way over the line. I thought “fuck it, let’s make it hard on them to get into their car” so I parked inches from the other car. It was their fault.

As I was going into the store, I saw the owner of the other car. Probably the sweetest old woman ever, still dressed right out of the 50s, including the handkerchief around her neck.

I felt like a jerk when I looked back one more time and saw her trying to get to her door by walking sideways.

Google, we hard knew ye

It turns out that Google is now going to start delivering image ads.

I often click on text ads from Google. But I never click on image ads and I will not begin to do so now. In fact, they have gotten so annoying (too much movement, flash, sound) that I’ve started blocking them all together. And I will probably block those too.

I wonder if they’ll also use them to ruin their, currently, great e-mail system.

How dissapointing. So much for my Tattoogle.
