Massages

A good friend of mine gave me a gift certificate for my birthday last year for a 1 hr massage at a local day spa. It expires in a couple months so I really need to use it. Specially considering that this person keeps asking me when I’m going to use it.

So I called today and they answered “Hello! It’s a great day at Beond! How can I help you?”

And once again my uncomfortable feelings about massages came back. And what are those? I feel weird about going to some place and basically telling someone “here is some money, now touch my body” and they pretty much have to do it.

Another friend said “they are so used to seeing all kinds of people semi-naked, they don’t even think about what they are doing, they are probably going through their to-do list, their plans for the weekend, etc.” And that is probably true. But that still doesn’t get me over the fact that I am paying someone to touch me.

And while I’m talking about the topic… does anyone know if you are supposed to tip them at the end? If so, how much?
