Explanation for the cake

I was thinking how I never really explained the Happy Gary Day cake post. Well, I work with this guy named Gary. He is cool and fun to hang out with. So Ron and I decided to invite him over to have dinner and a few drinks.

While thinking what to make for dinner, Ron decided to make a plain white cake and put some kind of white chocolate almond frosting on it. While baking it, we thought it’d be funny to write something on it for Gary and after a couple of suggestions we decided that “Happy Gary Day” would be funny.

So I mixed some frosting and food coloring and then put it in a zip-lock baggy. And as I have seen the Good Eats guy do many times before, I cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. I then squeezed the frosting out.

And you know what? It’s not as easy as they make it look on TV! That “H” is scary looking. The first “Y” is backwards, and the Ps and Ds look the same.

But Gary liked his cake. He also got a kick out of Ron’s comment: “We chose red so that it matches your pubes.”

Gary is one cool straight guy and I’m glad to have him as a friend.
