Ni hao (hello)

After a long (12 hour) flight, we finally made it to Beijing, China. We arrived at 5:30 pm on Sunday (local time) and from there we went to the hotel where we pretty much just went to sleep. OK, I was able to wait until 8:30 pm but I was exhausted and could not stay awake any longer. Of course that means that then I was wide awake at 2 am. I barely got any sleep after that.

Then we got up early on Monday morning and we had to go to the airport and take one more flight. We got in to ZhengZo (I’m sure that’s not how you spell it) at 2:10 pm where the people from the University we are working with picked us up. After that we had a 1 hour van ride.

China reminds me of Thailand in the way that everyone seems very poor and the streets are also full of run down houses, people sitting on the roads, lots of bicycles and crazy crazy driving.

The campus where we are staying is very nice and seems a world apart from the rest of the country. I hope to be able to take a lot of pictures and post them.
