Pedestrian Crossing with a Hula HoopI was driving home for lunch today (one of the few nice things about living in a small town) and as I was driving past a couple pedestrian crossing signs, I noticed that they looked different, so I slowed down. Sure enough, it looked like they had a hula hoop around their waist. In fact, the hula hoop even had a couple lines indicating movement of the circle. It kind of looked like this (my mock up):
I thought it was odd. It made me wonder what in the world they were trying to say with that. Sure, there are a couple of schools around the area. Maybe they wanted to warn me about children playing while crossing the road? Why would they want to be so specific. So when I returned to work, I did a quick Google search and it turns out that it is a prank by fans of a Colorado group called The String Cheese Incident, who apparently throw it clear hula hoops stickers out to fans during concerts. The fans then go and paste them on pedestrian crossing signs. In fact, I just found a picture of a sign with that sticker, which clearly shows it is a sticker, check it out. But let me tell you, when I was driving, you couldn’t tell that it was a sticker.
Grow cube solutionI’ve received a few emails and some comments at work asking for the solution to the Grow Cube puzzle I blogged about the other day. If you really want to spoil your fun, highlight the next sentence with your mouse to reveal the solution: Have fun!
Grow cubeA long time ago I wrote about a game called Grow which involved dumping objects on a sphere in a specific order and make things grow. One object would affect the growth of another, and another, and so on, and so on. The guy made a follow-up to the game, and it’s called Grow Cube. I think it’s harder than the first one, but just as frustrating and fun. I did manage to beat it and I took a screenshot to prove it. Please keep in mind that if you are going to play, you shouldn’t look at the screenshot, as it may give a few hints away. [the winning screen]
