Hello from Kansas!
And I am back in Kansas! It feels a tad surreal after having spent a few days in Orlando trying to learn my way round the area where the apartment is, finding grocery stores, figuring out how to get to the new job and all of that type of stuff. 3 more weeks.
Hello from Disney World!
Hello from Universal Studios! To celebrate my new job and apartment in Orlando, FL, we went ahead and bought annual passes to Universal Studios and spent some time around there this afternoon. Good thing we did too because we were asked to watch a pilot for an upcoming TV series and then answer a few questions about it. $30 each for about 1.5 hrs of our time. Hey, it paid for part of the annual pass! We may go back tomorrow before we head back to Kansas and ride something since they kick us out of the hotel at noon.
Our new apartment in FloridaOur apartment is behind that yellow building. First floor. Screened patio (a must in Florida). Palm trees right outside the door. Pool and hot tub very close to the front door. So close the Universal Studios I could walk there. Coke (classic formula?)Orlando is not all fairies and castles. Last night we drove to a couple apartments to check them out before wasting time with the office people to see if we really wanted to rent there. We first went to a place that was renting town houses. Not 10 seconds into the complex we saw a guy who sitting outside his home and he offered to sell us some coke. Probably not the delicious kind (to me). We walked around for a couple more minutes to see how trashy the whole place was and left.
1,509 miles
Above you see a picture of the trip I am going to embark on shortly. Yes, I have been offered a job in exciting Orlando, FL and I will be moving there on February 18th. Woohoo! A metropolitan area. More diversity. More entertainment options. No more snow. Mickey Mouse.
Play C-64 games onlineIf you remember the 1980s, you probably recall playing games on a Commodore 64. It is now time to relive those days by playing those games online.
MENSA test (not really)Regardless of the page being called “MENSA Test”, the FAQ page explains how the site owner has no way of knowing if this is a true test. Besides, people can suggest new questions, which further invalidates this test. But it is fun nonetheless. How many can you get right? I got 14 before I decided that I had wasted enough time on it, and I doubt I could have gotten many more anyway. Brilliant!I need to get me one of these blankets. I love getting under one and browse the Internets. |
