Entertaible

I’m in love all over again. Philips is working on a product called the Entertaible. Kind of a silly name, but I just must have one.

It’s an LCD screen that lays flat on a table and it allows you to play board games with friends. Yes, with actual game pieces and dice, but the board is an image. It can have animations and sounds. You could do things such as play the same game but with a slightly different board so the game changes somewhat every time you play to keep things interesting.

The board can keep track of the multiple game pieces and it can tell when a finger touches the screen to, for example, activate an option.

You could probably also download new games and play them right away. And I’m sure that you could save the status of a board game so that if you need to move it or continue at a later time, you could.

This sounds like it could be so much fun. Of course, being that it is a 30 inch LCD on steroids, it probably won’t be cheap.
