Nightmares from outer space

I don’t have a lot of nightmares. But when I do, they seem to invole aliens. I have no idea why. Maybe I should stop watching sci-fi movies.

Last night I had a nightmare that aliens were attacking Earth and I was running away from their ships. Their ships, by the way, looked like clear seahorses and shot rays from their tails.

Not necessary

I’m addicted to my Blackberry, or Crackberry as it is commonly known.

Being that I’m a geek I was thinking that maybe it would be fun to write my own Blackberry applications. Wheel’O'Yum Mobile anyone? While searching Amazon I came across this book.

The book does not cover what I need. But, why would I want the guy’s picture on it? It’s not like he is hot like fire. Totally unnecessary.

I’m going to choke

I have this bad habit at work of putting a soda bottle-cap in my mouth while I work after I’m done drinking.

I’m afraid that one day I’m going to screw up and it’s going to get stuck down my windpipe.

Awesomeness!

Zefrank makes a daily video. He calls us “speed racers”. He says “awesomeness!” a lot. He has a lot of quick edits. He makes a lot of funny comments. It’s great for those of us with short attention spans. He likes to sing. On Fridays we get to write the script so that he doesn’t have to think. You should watch his shows.

I ordered the gadget!

After some positive feedback on my post about LaneFX and my dad saying “get it! I sometimes get in close calls due to the blind spot!” I decided to go ahead and order the blind spot system for my car.

Now I have to wait for it to arrive sometime next week and then find someone who can install it for me. I can build a computer from the ground up, but put me in front of a car and its electrical system and you’ll get a blank stare from me.

Jaws: The Musical

Heres a musical that the Jaws ride operators at Universal Orlando created about, well, being a ride operator at Jaws. Apparently Universal has a short film contest every year where each ride creates a movie making fun of their own ride. This is the one that won this year.

The funny thing is that I recognize a couple of them from having been on the ride.

A tad slow toward the end but neat overall.

Kabooo (pause) (bathroom) (play) oooommm!

You know you’ve been using DVRs for way too long when you are enjoying a typical Florida thunderstorm, need to go inside for a minute and the first thing that crosses your mind is “I should pause that” until you realize that TiVo doesn’t currently interface with weather patterns.

New gadget I want

I love gadgets. Specially those that prove themselves useful. I just came across one called LaneFX. Cheesy name, but useful if you ask me.

All it does is something as simply as move your mirrors when you activate your turn signal. It moves the mirrors so that you can easily see your blind spot without turning your head.

It’s not that I’m lazy. It’s just that when I’m doing 80 on the I-4 among hundreds of bad tourists drivers, I rather not take my eyes off the road long enough to look over my shoulder and make sure that there is no one there. That check is more than a split second check, it’s usually at least a 2 second check. And sometimes I look and on a couple occasions I have still missed a car in my blind spot. I could also lean forward so that I can see other areas using the mirror, but that always makes me uncomfortable.

Sure. Laugh at me. Wouldn’t it just be easier to glance at the mirror and see if there is a car there? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe it’s a stupid and pointless gadget, but it has peaked my interest and I would like to try it, too bad they don’t seem to have any dealers or installers in this area.
