4th of July launch

Against my better judgment, I agreed to go to Disney World with a friend on the 4th of July. The place was packed. We went to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.

While at Epcot in the afternoon we rode the death machine, aka Mission Space. As soon as we got out of it, we saw a lot of people all looking into the same direction, and that’s when it hit me, the space shuttle was about to launch.

And sure enough, not 30 seconds after we stepped outside, right over the the Mission Space building, there it was, the space shuttle. It was awesome. You could see the shuttle, the fire from the rockets and the thick column of smoke. It was picture perfect. People started clapping and we all looked until you could not see it anymore. The entire park had stopped and was looking at it.

It was a perfect patriotic ending to a fantastic 4th of July theme park adventure.
