Mannequins is a dance club at Disney World’s Pleasure Island here in Orlando, FL. I love it. I have spent hours and hours dancing with my friends on the revolving dance floor, covered in sweat, being cooled occasionally by the huge columns of smoke (CO2?) sprayed on us from the ceiling.
Every night around 9 p.m. the club does its opening sequence, a light show of sorts. It is absolutely brilliant. It should be experienced in person at least once. Unfortunately Pleasure Island is closing forever after tomorrow’s operating hours. This is Disney’s worst move in history.
Here is the Mannequins opening show for those who have never been lucky enough to see it. The moving lights, the rotating dance floor, the wall of lights, the smoke, it’s all in there. Yes, it is long but so worth it.
