Use your mouth for goodHoly crap. This works. I thought it was not true and they were trying to get people to look stupid, so I waited until dark and I went outside. I walked far away from my car so that my remote wouldn’t work. It put it under my chin, pushed a button, and it worked! I did some more testing and I had a bit more luck putting it on the side of my jaw instead of under my chin, but the important thing is that it works. I always have a hard time finding my car at Disney, this will help!
Debbie Downer Does DisneyI’m addicted to You Tube, it’s no secret. Some videos are neat, others stupid, others make me smile, and others even giggle a little. But so far there is only one video that has made me laugh out loud by myself. I haven’t watched SNL in years, but apparently they have a character called “Debbie Downer” who always finds a way to bring up something depressing during conversation. There is a skit of Debbie Downer and her friends at Disney World, eating at a character breakfast, getting ready to hit the parks. And yet even while at the happiest place in the world, Debbie finds a way to down everyone. But not only is it funny, the cast members themselves are cracking up and can’t hold it. Not even Debbie. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Get humanI’m an idiot. I lost my American Express card. So I called the customer service number so that I could have a new card sent to me. And I waited. And I waited And I waited. After over 15 minutes of waiting on hold I decided to hang up. I knew there had to be a better and faster way to get to a human. And sure enough. There is. Say hello to Get Human, a database of customer service phone numbers and how to quickly get a real person to answer the phone. In my case it was some toll-free number I had not heard of before, and then dial 0 repeatedly. So I did. And it worked. In less than 10 seconds I had a living, breathing, and thinking human being on the line. And he was nice! And knowledgeable! And helpful! Take that, IVRs!
Disney’s next ride-based movieThe Soup (the only show on E! worth watching) has been able to get a hold of a trailer for Disney’s next ride-based movie. Check it out. I can’t wait to see it.
Awesomeness!Zefrank makes a daily video. He calls us “speed racers”. He says “awesomeness!” a lot. He has a lot of quick edits. He makes a lot of funny comments. It’s great for those of us with short attention spans. He likes to sing. On Fridays we get to write the script so that he doesn’t have to think. You should watch his shows.

Personal storiesWhen you are involved in a distance education department at a university, you tend to have contact with students all over the world. This includes students in tragedy-affected areas such as New Orleans and Mississippi. Here are some excerpts from some emails that we have received from some students: “We have no idea if we have a house left, but do know from talking with people at the base that the looters have taken over homes in our neighborhood, stealing, destroying and burning. ” “Crime is now the only issue on our minds. We live in a beautiful, safe town that is now too dangerous to visit Wal Mart for groceries.” “Your email finds me and my children safe, however, our house is believed to be gone. “
Take me to the moonGoogle doesn’t stop surprising us. Recently they released Google Maps which allows you to find addresses and directions and then view their corresponding satellite imagery. Now they have released Google Moon which allows you to take look around a small section of the moon and see the Apollo landing sites. How cool is that? I think I see my house! Oh, and while you are at it, try zooming in all the way.
